Who, or What, is Semperverdant?

Our World Today

Unfortunately, we live in a time today where the President of the United States is Donald Trump. While there are plenty of issues to worry about from this presidency, we are going to zero in on Trump's words regarding federal lands. Trump has directed federal agencies to look for ways to bypass protections for endangered species with the goal of rapidly increasing logging in our national forests.

Logging, and lumber, are key resources for any nation, and there is no arguing that wood is a resource that the US has great need of. However, we already have hundreds of thousands of miles of logging space available, and we have done a good job regrowing lumber - in some places in the Pacific Northwest, the trees currently growing about our heads are 4th or 5th generation grows, which shows that we are able to utilize the land available to us.

Trump is not thinking about the future, he is thinking solely of the present, except this time he has the drive and the backing of people he didn't have in his first term. If we stand by idle, Trump WILL log our national forests, and he will continue to push boundaries. He will come for the redwoods, our rainforests, all of our remaining old growth, and he won't wait for the courts or legislation to make what he's doing legal - he's already shown that with his deportations. It is up to us, the individuals, to make an effort and resist in whatever ways we can. If you can donate, look into donating to the Nature Conservatory or another organization that is seeking to stop Trump through legal action. If you can't, educate yourself, and try to educate at least one other person. Everybody has their limit, and every contribution counts, no matter how small

This has been a lot of words without answering the question. So, who is Semperverdant? The answer to that isn't certain. Semperverdant is really just an idea at this point, and I don't know if it'll ever evolve past that, but only time will tell.
